J.A. Miara was contracted to handle a complex logistics operation involving container unloading, outside storage, reloading, and final delivery. This project presented unique challenges due to the oversized base skids—nearly the full length of a 40-foot container—and the tightly packed material bundles with minimal clearance on all sides.
Traditional unloading methods using forklifts were not feasible due to extremely limited headroom within the containers. To address this, J.A. Miara deployed specialized Landoll trailers equipped with high-capacity winches. This approach allowed for the controlled and damage-free extraction of the skids, ensuring the load remained untouched by the container walls or ceiling.
Once removed, the skids were lifted using two high-capacity forklifts fitted with 10-foot forks to ensure full support and prevent any deflection or damage during handling. The material was then placed into secure outside storage until the customer was ready to receive it.
For final delivery, J.A. Miara reloaded the skids onto their Conestoga trailers, providing weather protection during transit. The entire operation demonstrated the value of proper equipment, precision execution, and the seasoned expertise of J.A. Miara’s rigging and transportation team.
