Rushco, part of our trucking division, was recently contracted to transport a generator from Chillicothe, IL to Wakefield, MA as part of the Energy Park Project. The Energy Park Project will establish a microgrid designed to provide backup power for two schools and support peak shaving to help lower costs for ratepayers. This forward-thinking initiative will feature a battery storage system (BESS) as well as a natural gas generator. The generator—comprised of multiple components—required five separate trailer loads. Weighing up to 93,000 pounds, a generator can present significant logistical challenges. Transporting such over-dimensional cargo demands special permits, escort vehicles, and highly skilled drivers. Fortunately, our experienced team is well-versed in managing these requirements. With the help of our stretch trailers, we were able to safely haul this generator and its components to Energy Park.
