J.A. Miara was tasked with placing a robotic beehive onto the roof of a parking garage in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The first challenge was getting the piece onto the roof as the space between the top of the piece and the parking garage ceiling was limited. Once at the rooftop, a forklift was used to lift and move the piece from the truck to a parking space. Since the parking garage was sloped, the beehive had to be placed on pieces of wood so that it was level, requiring careful placement from our forklift operator. The innovative technology of the beehive has helped to increase the bee population amid a steady decrease. Miara riggers successfully completed this project in a few hours.
